CNCF - Who are we?

This may actually take a bit more explanation than you'd think. The first and most obvious thing you should know is that ClearNote Campus Fellowship (CNCF) is a Christian student organization (or campus ministry). And no, we're not a glee club. Or some other music-related thing (although we do happen to have a number of totally awesome musicians).

Whew, glad we got that out of the way.

All the same, we're still not what you'd normally think of when you picture a campus ministry.

We're not a part of some international organization. We're not a national brand. We're not even a global movement of students. Unless you consider all Christians on all college campuses to be a part of the same "movement." But the fact is that we're very local.

CNCF was commissioned by the elders and pastors of Church of the Good Shepherd — a church right here in Bloomington. And we're still under the authority and oversight of that church. In fact, you'll occasionally find a pastor from CGS speaking at our campus-wide meeting, the Fold.

We're convinced that in order for students to be truly discipled, it must be done in the context of the local church where they are cared for by pastors and elders, and where they have regular fellowship with believers of all ages and walks of life—rich, poor, families, children, senior adults—you name it.

To that end, our goal is to not only see students come to know Jesus, but to see them plugged into a local church where they will be faithfully discipled. And more than that, we desire them to share their gifts with the greater body of Christ.

So why does CNCF exist? The answer is simple: a local church desired to see students at IU become faithful disciples of Jesus Christ and took action.
