Proverbs 31 and Godly Manhood

Where do you turn to in Scripture to find out how to be a godly man? Last weekend the men of ClearNote Church went on our annual retreat, and our topic was: The Proverbs 31 ...Man? We can learn a lot from Proverbs 31, namely what godly manliness and masculinity looks like. In brief, a godly man will have authority, he will sacrifice his own time and energy for the sake of others, he will take on responsibility, and he will take initiative. On the other hand, a worldly-minded, effeminate, man-child will abdicate, be self-centered and passive, and he will be absorbed in self-pity and various forms of escape...

The pursuit of heavenly rewards

How important is it to seek heavenly rewards? According to the Word of God, it is a must: “Whoever would draw near to God must believe…that he rewards those who seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). Without believing in and seeking rewards, we can’t draw near to God.

This semester we have been studying the men and women of faith in Hebrews 11. What motivated them to perform their great acts of faith? Only one thing: they were seeking heavenly rewards.
