Just a brief reminder that our annual Fall Retreat is this weekend at Camp Pyoca. The topic is the Holy Spirit. The speaker is church planter Don Donell. The cost is $50 for upperclassmen and $40 for freshmen. Check-in time is 6:00pm on Friday. We'll have rides leaving early and late.
Be sure to bring:

Our very own Good Shepherd Band is due to release their first Christmas album in just a few weeks. Just a couple days ago they put up a few preview tracks on YouTube.
There's more (free) music in the pipeline, so be sure to follow them on Twitter (@theGSB) or like them on Facebook to stay in the know.
In the meantime, check this out:
We just want to remind you that there are some awesome festivities coming up this weekend that you should be getting pumped about.
First, there's the Battle of the Chilis. Which is more like a great big harvest party. There will be lots of chili to eat, a huge bonfire, hayrides, and more. That gets started at 6:30 tonight at ClearNote Church.

Then, you definitely don't want to miss our annual CNCF Costume Party this Saturday at Dewayne's house. The best costume wins an awesome prize, so be sure to scour Goodwill and don't be afraid to get really creative.
Tonight's costume party is going to be better than this video. And that's pretty awesome:

If you're like me, you've been looking forward to this for a long time. Good Christmas music is hard to find, and this album is going to be a gem. Here's another preview to whet your appetite:

Have you ever puzzled over God's will for your life? How do you know? I mean, really know? Should you expect a sign from heaven? An audible voice? A lot of warm fuzzy feelings? Should you feel a peace in your heart?
Does the Holy Spirit really want to guide and direct our decisions? How does He do it? We know the Holy Spirit gave us the Bible, but how does that come into the picture?
College students have a lot of tough decisions to make--some of the toughest and most important decisions of your lives, in fact. What should your major be? What about your career path? Should you date that guy? Should you pop the question? Much less questions like, "What should I wear today?"
Even worse are the questions after the decisons that have been made. Is there such a thing as God's "perfect will?" Did I just blow it by failing to make the decision God really wanted me to make? Am I doomed to a life of second bests because I didn't have the faith to follow "God's will?"
That's why this is always one of the hottest topics we ever deal with. You're looking for guidance. And we're here to help you sort through the mess.
Join us this Tuesday night at 8pm in Neal-Marshall A201 as we learn from guest speaker Max Curell how to know the will of God for our lives.
