Ephesians: The Full Armor of God

We had a great time at the retreat this past weekend and are looking forward to digging back into Ephesians. Join us this week in Woodburn 101 as Lane Bowman of Freshman 15 fame gives me (Jake) a breather.

You don't wanna miss it.

What: The Fold
When: Tuesday @ 8pm
Where: Woodburn 101

Retreat Speaker: Mat McIntosh

Meet Mat McIntosh. When I was a student at IU, Mat became the youth/college pastor at the church I went to back home (Evansville). At the time, he was working his way through seminary at Southern in Louisville.

Retreat Music: The Good Shepherd Band

The Good Shepherd Band is the regular Sunday morning worship band at Church of the Good Shepherd. The band released Wake Up Sleeper, their first album, last Spring with ClearNote Records, and it is available for free download at www.goodshepherdband.com.

The GSB has been featured in CrossRoad Magazine, among other outlets.

Retreat Theme: Living Coram Deo

Coram Deo. It's a really old phrase that was once used to describe the Christian life. Literally, it means, "Before the face of God."

It was meant to bring to mind images of Moses standing before God on the mountain in the midst of lightning and thunder.

The Brotherhood of Sons

Last night at the Fold, I spent some time fumbling through an article that I called a must-read.

It's called "The Brotherhood of Sons," and it's by Russ Moore—a hero of mine. Dr. Moore is the Dean of Theology at Southern Seminary.

Temporary ROOM CHANGE

Hi ya'll. Just a reminder that this week, the Fold will be meeting in Myers 130. Don't show up to Woodburn 101 unless you want to take a test.

The Fold!

So you missed the first Fold of the year.

No sweat. It was just an introduction.

Join us this Tuesday at 8pm in Woodburn 101 as we worship Jesus, dig into the book of Ephesians, and enjoy sweet Christian fellowship.

The Freshman 15

You've heard of the Freshman 15, right?--the 15 pounds everyone expects you to put on this year (if you're a freshman)?

Now it has a totally new meaning. Instead of becoming a slob this year, join us for 15 weeks of good, solid spiritual exercise.

That's right. This is a Bible Study just for freshmen. In fact, it's for all freshmen. Boys and Girls. Blue and Pink. You could even call it the Purple Study.
